Grocery & Gas Cards
Pam applied for the support for her furloughed, laid off and hours-reduced team members in May. However, we made sure to raise enough funds to make an impact for her 15 team members. These 15 team members’ roles were directly impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic. So, delivering the gift cards proved an emotional day. After leaving the hotel and hoping back in my car, I texted Jen Laret of A4 Promotions, “Delivered! :).”
I have known Pam and the team members of Hyatt Place: Rancho Cordova over 3 years. As Marketing Manager for Visit Rancho Cordova, I regularly work with the Rancho Cordova hoteliers. It meant the world to help raise the funds, gather the gift cards and deliver them to the hotel. Friends and colleagues experienced lay offs, furloughs and dealt with reduced hours. Therefore, providing them with gas and grocery cards was everything.
Hospitality & Rancho Cordova
The hospitality industry has been severely impacted by the novel coronavirus. 16.9 million American jobs lost in the Leisure & Hospitality sector in March & April alone, according to U.S. Travel. Locally, this meant the loss of nearly half the 3,000 hospitality jobs in Rancho Cordova, CA. This industry supports over 60 million in economic impact for the city. Travel & Tourism will be a vital piece to the economic recovery of the city of Rancho Cordova, CA.
Thanks to the generosity of the City of Rancho Cordova and local support, the Rancho Cordova in Action Fund still has $11k to distribute. So, if you are a Rancho Cordova hotelier, member of a local veterans association or arts organization apply for support today!
